Valentines Day in Costa Rica

For me holidays are always an excuse

to bake something and

use creativity.

While studying spanish and living

in another country, baking is how I

de-stress.  Its also a little taste of home.

Sugar cookies...what's not to LOVE!

In the morning I attempted to make heart shaped pancakes

for my kiddos, before we headed off to school.

And Cody needed cupcakes for a fiesta in 2nd Grade,

so he helped bake them and then I decorated them with

pink and he wasn't super impressed with the color,

but enjoyed them anyway.

For the fiesta in 5th grade,

chocolate covered marshmallows

were the sweet things that

tickled their taste buds.

And the Mom's

coffee and chocolate

at my house

had chocolate cupcakes with

peanut butter frosting.

Valentines Day 2011

Mix up the brownies,
dip the oreos in the batter,
bake in greased muffin tins,
and...

You have oreo brownies!

Treats for school....check.

RiceKrispie Treats made with strawberry marshmallows.

Dinner for 5...check.

Heart shaped red velvet cake with ganache.

The best part of my day was having my family all together again after

Mr. Sweet (aka my husband) returned from Costa Rica after a 10 day

mission trip.

As my husband left on a mission trip last week,

with SCEI

I was reminded of his love

for me.

The doorbell rang....

I love him and I am blessed to have him.

And everyday he gives his all to

bless me in

unexpected ways.
