Summertime...

Watermelons are a favorite part of
summer. Juice dripping,
dripping
down your arm
and off your elbow.

Sticky, yummy and so refreshing.

But then there is another kind of
watermelon that is my favorite.

It comes in the form of a cookie!
A yummy sugar cookie with a
glass of cold milk sounds refreshing to me!

Go enjoy a slice of watermelon!

Sample a bit of summertime
just the way you like it!

Coffee break...

So many choices in the morning.

I have added to my coffee collection.
Actually my husband has added to the collection.

He just returned from a mission trip
to Panama with SCEI.
So he brought me coffee from Panama
But friends of ours from
Dominican Republic
were with
and gave him Dominican Republic
coffee for me.
Gracias, mi amigas!

One day I hope to enjoy a cup of DR
coffee with them in their country.

But for today I will
enjoy a cup of coffee with
my friends
in cyperworld.
Photobucket

If we were talking over a steaming cup
of coffee
I would be serving cookies
too.

And then I would ask you what I should
 called these cookies...
they are full of lots
of goodness,
semi-sweet chocolate chips,
toffee bits,
and pretzel sticks.

But they need a name...
What do you think?

If you were sitting across
from me sipping your coffee,
I would ask you
what your dreams are.
And share with you that I
like to dream big.

Knowing that God in His
amazing plan for
my life,
can far exceed my dreams!

He is like that you know,
 He loves to love us.

1Jo 3:1How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Fear of the unknown
is what sometimes
cripples our
dreams.
It takes a step of
faith on our
part to follow the dreams
that God has laid
on our hearts.

But in that step He guides us
because  His plan for our life
 far exceeds our
wildest dreams.

Isn't that exciting?
I am so amazed by
His love.
GOD IS LOVE!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

Enjoy your day!
Dream big,
God dreams bigger!
You are loved!

A day at Grandma's house.

So they were calling for more
sleet and freezing rain,
so I decided that if
"iced in"
was how it was going to be,
why not be at Grandma's house
when the ice came.

So I mixed up a batch of sugar cookies,
grabbed some
gel food coloring
cookie cutters
decorator bags
a few necessities
and my kiddos
and off we went,
to spend the night with Grandma.

Last week during another
"iced in" day
I made sugar cookies,
and I was sold on everything about them.

The recipes from sweet Pam
over at CookieCrazie
were perfect.
And she had so many helpful
hints on her blog.
But I had a moment of
uh-oh,
this could quickly become a
favorite past time,
and having the sweet tooth
that I do...
...well its not the healthiest past time.

After a good nights sleep in my
old childhood bed,
and breakfast with Grandma,
we started the cookie rolling,
icing making, cookie cutting and baking.

Then a little break to watch the birds eating the berries off the tree.

Some stitchching...

and some drawing.

Another cup of coffee it was time to break for lunch.

I guess it would be safe to say we play with our food.

Lunch was taco salad and fresh guacamole...and penguins.

by the time lunch was over the cookies
were baked and cooled and
ready to be decorated.

LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!

And another cup of coffee...

My Dad has been a truck driver for most of his life and
although Mom is used to staying home
by herself and is always working on
creating things,
this made the time go much faster and
she just loved time to sit and
be creative with us.

I was amazed at the kids designs and
how they got better at it
as they decorated cookie after cookie.

A fun day filled with many smiles!

Cupcakes - what's not to love?

This is a doily that my Grandma made, isn't it beautiful?

My Mom has a collection of cake plates,
and a lovely way to display our cookies.

IT'S NOT JUST SWEET, IT'S A MEMORY MADE!
