Overwhelmed!

What does it mean to you?

Today if you and I were sitting down
for coffee I would tell you that
I am a bit overwhelmed with all
that I think I need to accomplish today.

There is a mountain of laundry to do and
there is painting to be done.
The list is long and I know you
probably have your own list to read,
so I won't bore you with mine.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

So in the midst of the to-do list,
I need to stop and be overwhelmed by God
His amazing love for me,
His strength in and thru me,
His power to heal,
His gift of salvation,
His ability to overwhelm me with His love for me.

See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for he allows us to be called his children, and we really are! But the people who belong to this world don't know God, so they don't understand that we are his children.  I John 3:1 NLT

Today I will focus on Jesus and be overwhelmed
because He loves me.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  I John 3:1 NIV
