~"ICE CREAM"~

It started with a box of 200 cones...
and no ice cream to fill them.

So what is a girl to do?
Bake of course!

What seemed like a simple little project
turned out to be a bit
frustrating but still sweet in the end.

First I baked mini cupcakes...

 After they had cooled
I crumbled one and filled the
bottom of the cone...

Then my daughters added a
swirl of frosting...

And they added another mini cupcake
on top of the frosting swirl,

And then I added a swirl of frosting on
top and my little man
added the sprinkles.

Super easy to make but...
the hard part was getting them to the party.

I made holes in an egg carton to hold the cones
but with the frosting on top they became top heavy
and so every bump and turn along the way
was a potential disaster waiting to happen.

We did make it to the picnic without
any major frosting/cupcake disasters.

What I learned?
I learned that I should probably make
a neat little cone holder if I plan to make these
again and I learned that even though they
weren't perfect, the kids enjoyed them.

Sweet as can be!

J E L L O FUN!

Thankfully, our family has no food allergies
and I am blessed to have a
healthy family.

But when we were having a
party and one of the guest was
lactose intolerant,
I wanted to make a special
treat just for her.

JELLO was the perfect thing,
refreshing, bright and so easy!

One color at a time,
let it set and then add the next.

It really didn't take that long,
if you did a load of laundry,
pulled some weeds,
cleaned and ate lunch in between.

Simple ~ Fun ~ Tasty

This turned out to be
a blessing, because
a couple days later I
was sick and was on a
liquid diet for 24 hours.
So I had a few of these cool jello treats.

Happy New Year!

2010 - what a year it has been!

Every year of my life holds some uncharted territories, something different, new and exciting or just plain scary.  A roller coaster ride at times and a beautiful, peaceful sunset other days.

But among the excitement and change and good times and bad, there is some things that are a constant every year and every day. The first one being God's faithfulness!  He is a constant!  Always there for me, He always got my back and He is there when I think I can do it on my own and fail. I never look into His eyes and see condemnation but only love and acceptance.

He splashes beautiful sunsets across the sky year after year and with the beauty of the sunset He shows me His colors of love for me and His creativity.  He is bigger than me and as I trust Him he does not disappoint.

He also knows what next year holds for me and so I can rest in His arms as once again I face a year of unknowns and questions.  Some stretching is sure to happen in the new year.  Growing pains too!  God's faithfulness thru those times?  100% absolute!

He is my rock, He is my strength, He is my everything!  And I am HIS PRECIOUS DAUGHTER!  I am blessed!

Another thing that hasn't changed is that my favorite season is still SUMMER!
